Admiral Nevzorov
The Admiral Nevzorov (Адмирал Невзоров) was a Kirov-class battle cruiser of the Russian Navy. The crew of the vessel joined the New Russian Federation during their uprising against the Russian government.
History
During the NRF uprising, the Admiral Nevzorov was part of a fleet that had joined the coup forces stationed in the Black Sea. At some point, the NRF had captured the Russian Prime Minister on his yacht and began towing the yacht to the rebel fleet.
On January 6, 2016, NATO and loyalist Russian aircraft and paratroopers launched Operation Rescue Goose to rescue the Prime Minister. After most of the rebel fleet was sunk by the NATO and loyalist aircraft, most of the remaining rebels began surrendering. However, the Admiral Nevzorov refused to surrender and opened fire on the allies.
The allies attempted to sink the Admiral Nevzorov, but her CIWS defenses shot down all incoming attacks. The allies launched saturation attacks on the vessel, which overwhelmed the defense systems and destroyed them. At the request of the loyalist Russian commander, AWACS Magic transmitted a warning to the Admiral Nevzorov in both English and Russian, giving the crew a chance to surrender or be destroyed. When the allies received no response and continued attacks from the Admiral Nevzorov, the Russian commander granted them permission to sink the vessel. After a few more attacks, Warwolf Squadron sunk the Admiral Nevzorov.[1]
