Locked
"Locked" refers to two tracks on Disc 1 of the ACE COMBAT 3D: CROSS RUMBLE Original Soundtrack. The first is the 17th track on the disc and is a slowed-down and distorted remix of the second track. The second, full track is the 19th track on the disc and is a high-tempo rap song. Both tracks were composed and arranged by Go Shiina, with lyrics written and performed by DJ3no.[1]
The first version of Locked plays during the second part of Seagull until the Zone of Endless F/A-18E Super Hornet enters the battle, at which point "Intruder" plays. Once the player forces the Z.O.E aircraft to leave, Cocoon Squadron returns and the second, full version of Locked plays.
Naming
According to Noel, "Like a Phoenix Rising" was originally titled "Gravity" during writing and recording.[2][3] However, when the game and soundtrack were released, the name "Gravity" was instead used for the second, full version of Locked,[3] and the name "Locked" was then used for the trimmed and distorted version.
Lyrics
The original lyrics were posted by DJ3no(IIINO) on YouTube;[4][5] they have been edited below for grammar and to match the actual song.
DJ3no explained on YouTube that the lyrics "[ain't] the best rap lyrics [I've] ever done," but it was his first video game composition so he "had to cater to the producer".[6]
