Particle accelerator
Particle accelerators are devices which accelerate charged particles through electromganetic fields. Two types of particle accelerators, or "atom smashers", exist: the cyclotron, which accelerates particles through high-frequency voltage and the synchrotron, in which the electric and magnetic fields are synchronized with the particle.
History
Particle accelerators were used in the southern Osean continent in the late 2010s. In Aurelia, a massive synchrotron system, called the "Aurelian Superconducting Synchrotron Laboratory" (or "Atmos Ring"), was built by the government around downtown Griswall for scientific research. On the other hand, cyclotron technology was developed by Leasath, which employed their research on the Shock Wave Ballistic Missile and the Shock Cannon.[1]
