Pipeline Destruction (AC7)

Pipeline Destruction is the eighth campaign mission of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. The player is tasked with destroying Erusea's fuel production facilities.

Briefing[edit | edit source]

Attention! If you disobeyed orders in the previous mission, line up over there! You won't disobey a second time. Do not test my patience. The biggest threat to our forces is the enemy's enormous swarm of drones. In order for our forces to penetrate deep into Erusean territory, we'll need to clear a path. You will destroy the enemy's fuel plant. HQ has found evidence that fuel is being moved intermittently inland from a refinery at the harbor in Artiglio. It's likely they're supplying fuel for the various drone bases. Those of you whose food privileges were taken away already know how this goes: we silence the drones by taking their fuel. Enter via the estuary, take out their AA, destroy the fuel points on both sides of the river, and the oil tankers. Remember: you're not bona fide military; you're expendable.

Objectives[edit | edit source]

Initial[edit | edit source]

In the first part of the mission, the player is tasked to cause as much damage as possible to the enemy fuel facilities. The mission's score requirement depends on the player's selected difficulty:

  • Easy: 12,000
  • Normal: 17,000
  • Hard: 20,000
  • Ace: 22,000

The player must surpass the point threshold within five minutes to advance the mission.

Mission Update[edit | edit source]

The player will spawn facing three Tanker Trucks. Shortly after, they and all other 17 Tanker Trucks on the Map will become TGTs. Because of Megastorm Inessa, a large Sandstorm and Dust Cloud conceal the ground, causing the Tanker Convoys to only be visible on radar in random intervals. After 10 Tanker Trucks are destroyed, a number of MQ-99s will spawn to the North and start harassing friendly troops. Once all Tanker Trucks are destroyed, the mission ends in Victory.

Debriefing[edit | edit source]

The mission was a success. There's nothing more I need to say. Dismissed.

So, it looks like we're getting attention from above. If any credit is due, it should come to me. Prisoners deserve nothing.

S Rank[edit | edit source]

Earning an S Rank on this mission requires earning a combined score and time bonus of 40,550 points or more.

The maximum time bonus available is 12,050 for completing the mission in a total of 10 minutes or less. This includes time spent retrying from the checkpoint. If the player can complete the mission in that amount of time, they only need 28,500 points from destroying targets in the mission itself to earn the S Rank.

If the player goes past the 10 minutes threshold, the time bonus decreases by 50 points every second, so the player must compensate by destroying more targets to hit the 40,550 point threshold.

Footnotes[edit source]

  1. 1.0 1.1 Explodes upon destruction, destroying nearby ground facilities.
  2. Certain tanker trucks are loaded with Helios, causing damage to the player if they're too close to the explosion.
  3. The player must have completed this mission at least once, and must be playing on Normal difficulty or higher. Destroy all oil facilities before the Timer runs out in the first part of the mission. GAZELLE will spawn to the north with the UAVs.
