Proteus was a submarine part of the Leasath Naval Forces.
History
During the closing days of the Aurelian War, Proteus was deployed along with Triton to Cobalt Cave in order to defend the core of the antenna which improved the HPM's accuracy. When Gryphus One was close to the core, the 2 submarines launched a surprise attack. Both units were destroyed.[1]
Trivia
- Proteus is named after the god of rivers, Proteus, from Greek mythology.
- Proteus is also the callsign of an ace from Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War.
- Proteus' deployment to Cobalt Cave is considered non-canon as Fire Storm is the canon scenario (where the submarine does not make an appearance at all). Outside of this, nothing is known about Proteus' deployment in the war.
