Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Rocket Launcher (abbreviated as RKT in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, RKTL in Infinity and Assault Horizon; RCL in previous games) is an unguided special weapon featured in nearly all games since Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies. The weapon often takes the shape of multi-barrel launch pods, with one located in each of the player aircraft's wings. A smaller variant, called Rocket Launcher (Small), is also featured in Ace Combat Infinity.

"A special weapon that fires a succession of multiple, non-homing rockets.
Although not suited to precision firing, they split apart upon impact, causing damage to the vicinity.
As well as clearing out a wide area, focusing on a single point of impact also allows for major damage to be inflicted to the target."

Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation

"The RCL is capable of firing a volley of unguided rockets in rapid succession.
Although some skill is necessary to master its operation, the RCL can deliver unparalleled damage when all of its rockets hit their mark.
The operational scope of this general-purpose weapon is limited only by the pilot's ability.
Its low cost and easy mounting have kept it in demand despite the prevalance of other missile based weapons."
