I look at this article and at the bottom of the second paragraph under "Discovery" I see the phrases "close proximity", "2,000,000 nuclear bombs", and "nuclear winter". Now, as we all know, proximity is relative, so close proximity could mean anything from ten to five hundred trillion feet. Also, there are very many different types and yields of nuclear weaponry, from head-sized tactical mortar-launched nukes to the Tzar Bomba, so providing a number of nukes is almost meaningless. And finally, in order for a nuclear winter to occur nuclear weaponry must be used by definition, and asteroids cause neither fission nor fusion when hitting other large chunks of mundane rock like the Earth.

In short, needs cleanup. Because I haven't played most of the games, I don't know much about this subject myself.
