The XB-70 is a supersonic bomber aircraft. It has never been available for players, but it has made multiple appearances in Ace Combat games as a special enemy unit to destroy. The XB-70 is known for its unparalleled speed, making it difficult for players to run these bombers down.
History
In Belka's attempted destruction of Valais Air Base during the Belkan War, Karlheinz Litbarski flew an XB-70 among the rest of the Belkan bombers. Along with the other bombers, he was shot down by the Galm Team.[2]
Erusean XB-70s were deployed in the airspace around Ice Creek in northern Usea to destroy ISAF landing forces with cruise missiles. However, all missiles and bombers were shot down by the ISAF Air Force.[3][4]
During the Emmeria-Estovakia War, the Estovakian Air Force sent three XB-70s to destroy the Quox Armored Battalion during their counter-invasion through the Selumna Peaks. They were detected entering the airspace by Emmerian AWACS Snake Pit and were intercepted by Windhover Squadron and Garuda Team.[1]

Usean Rebel Forces XB-70
Trivia
- The XB-0 Hresvelgr, which was destroyed in Operation Valkyrie, could be a reference to the XB-70, as they have similar designations and the XB-70's nickname is "Valkyrie".
- In Ace Combat 2's depiction of the Usean coup d'état, Usean Rebel Forces sent XB-70s to bomb the Usean Allied Forces' base, but they were intercepted by the Scarface Squadron over Amber Mountains. The XB-70s were replaced by U-2s in Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy's version of the event, therefore the XB-70's presence in the war is non-canon.
