"The Liberation of Gracemeria"[b] is the thirteenth campaign mission of Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. The player must help lead their allies liberate Gracemeria from Estovakian control.

Briefing[edit | edit source]

At last our day has come. Initiate Operation Free Gracemeria. All forces, advance into the capital. Enemy forces have thoroughly besieged Gracemeria. I'm sure we'll be running into some heavy resistance. This is the last battle. Let's win this thing and go home.

Objectives[edit | edit source]

Initial[edit | edit source]

The player will have six operations to participate in, and they must complete four operations in order to advance the mission.

(A) Airfield Recapture
Steel Gunners and Sky Kid will attempt to recapture Gracemeria Air Force Base. The TGTs to be destroyed here are tanks, A-10As, and F-15Es. Completing this operation will allow the player to perform a frontline landing.
(B) Capitol Recapture
Dragon Busters and Stingray will enter the newer sector of Gracemeria in order to recapture the capitol building. The TGTs in this operation are heavy defensive positions such as gun towers and pillboxes, as well as howitzers and tanks. Dragon Busters will be ambushed by more tanks when they enter the captiol, and some F-15Es will also be attacking them. Shooting down the Typhoons(which are non-TGTs) here allows Stingray to provide fire support to Dragon Busters, their fire support is moderately effective.
(C) Radio Station Recapture
Warlock and Yellow Jacket will attempt to recapture Gracemeria's radio station. Tanks, gun towers, howitzers, and a squadron of F-15Es are marked as TGT for this operation. Destroying all the AA guns(which are non-TGTs) allows Yellow Jacket to provide fire support to Warlock, their fire support is somewhat effective.
(D) Anti-Ship Assault
The Marigold will make a push for the King's Bridge and eliminate Estovakian forces in King's Bay. The TGTs here are most of the enemy ships in the bay, as well as a group of Rafale Ms.
(E) Electronic Support Aircraft Intercept
Windhover Squadron will be engaged with a squadron of F-22As at high altitude. An Estovakian E-767 is also providing enemy ESM. The E-767 and all F-22As are marked as TGT and must be shot down to complete this operation.
(F) Jammer Aircraft Intercept
Avalanche Squadron is attempting to destroy the aircraft jamming the radar in the center of the city. There are just four EA-200s marked as TGTs for this operation, and once the player shoots them down, the jamming will be cleared and the operation completed.

Mission Update[edit | edit source]

Ilya Pasternak will enter the airspace in a CFA-44 Nosferatu, supported by a swarm of UAV-45s. The CFA-44 is equipped with numerous missiles that can be fired simultaneously, and each UAV can also fire machine guns. The player must shoot down Pasternak in order to complete the mission.

S Rank[edit | edit source]

Earning an S rank on this mission requires earning an average rank of S on the individual operations and the Mission Update. The S rank requirements for each stage are as follows:[1]

  • Operation A: 15,000+ points
  • Operation B: 17,500+ points
  • Operation C: 14,800+ points
  • Operation D: 30,000+ points
  • Operation E: 12,000+ points
  • Operation F: 9,000+ points
  • Mission Update: 20,000+ points

To earn an S rank on each operation, it is advised that the player spares a couple of that operation's TGTs until they destroy a large number of optional enemies associated with that operation. Switching the radar to display units from each operation will help the most in this endeavor.

In order to earn an S rank on the Mission Update, the player must shoot down a minimum of 35 UAVs before shooting down Pasternak.

Debriefing[edit | edit source]

Gracemeria is finally free. The occupying Estovakian forces have been wiped out. Great execution of this mission has handed us a clear, overall victory in the war. We're still taking light resistance in a few limited areas, but it's only a matter of time before we have complete control of the capital. Our officials should start drawing up a cease-fire agreement, as they've made preparations for a meeting with the Estovakian leaders. Good job. You two are a part of history now. Your actions will be remembered for generations to come.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • It is best advised to complete Operations A, F, E, and D, in that order.[1] Operation A will allow the player to perform a frontline landing; Operations E and F can be completed relatively quickly, since they have fewer enemies; and Operation D provides the player with allied ESM from the Marigold, which will be important during the Pasternak fight.

Footnotes[edit source]

  1. The Wings Return (群翼は舞い戻る)
  2. Liberation of Gracemeria (グレースメリア解放戦)
  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 These enemy units will appear after the player destroys the initial group of eight TANKs.
  2. These F-15Es will spawn after the player shoots down two A-10As and the second group of eight TANKs that spawned with them.
  3. 3.0 3.1 3.2 3.3 3.4 3.5 3.6 3.7 These enemy units will appear after the player destroys the second group of eight TANKs.
  4. These Typhoons will spawn after the player shoots down any aircraft associated with Operation A.
  5. This Typhoon will spawn when the player approaches Gracemeria Air Force Base.
  6. These Typhoons will spawn after the player destroys the initial group of eight TANKs and after 10 seconds have elapsed from when the player approaches Gracemeria Air Force Base.
  7. These Typhoons will spawn after the player destroys all TANKs associated with Operation A.
  8. These Typhoons will spawn 30 seconds after the player destroys all TANKs associated with Operation A. However, they will not spawn if the player has already destroyed the two HANGARs.
  9. 9.0 9.1 9.2 9.3 9.4 9.5 9.6 9.7 These enemy units spawn when the player destroys the initial TGTs.
  10. 10.0 10.1 10.2 10.3 10.4 10.5 These enemy units spawn when the player destroys the second group of TGTs.
  11. These Typhoons spawn as soon as the player initiates Operation B.
  12. 12.0 12.1 12.2 These enemy units spawn after the player destroys the third group of TGTs, when Dragon Busters enters the capitol building.
  13. 13.0 13.1 13.2 13.3 13.4 These enemy units spawn when the player destroys the second group of TGTs.
  14. These Typhoons will spawn when the player shoots down two of the initial Typhoons that are flying close to the player's allies. Two will initially spawn; if the player shoots down both of them, two more will spawn.
  15. 15.0 15.1 15.2 These enemy units spawn when the player destroys the initial group of 15 TANKs.
  16. These Rafale Ms will spawn after the player sinks three of the initial TGT ships.
  17. These Rafale Ms will spawn after the second group of TGT ships spawns and the player sinks four of them.
  18. 18.0 18.1 18.2 18.3 18.4 18.5 18.6 18.7 These enemy units will spawn after the player sinks the first group of TGT ships.
  19. The E-767 will initially fly at an altitude of 46,000 feet. Since the player will start to stall at around 40,000 feet, the E-767 is difficult to shoot down at this point. If the player shoots down two F-22As, the E-767 will drop its altitude to 39,500 feet. If the player shoots down four F-22As, the E-767 will drop its altitude to 32,900 feet. These altitude drops will make it more vulnerable to attack.
  20. The second group of F-22As will spawn after the player satisfies any of the following conditions:
    • Shoot down three or more of the initial F-22As
    • Approach the E-767
    • Damage or shoot down the E-767
  21. These Typhoons will spawn after the player shoots down two or more of the initial TGT F-22As and the E-767 drops its altitude once. However, if the player destroys the E-767, these Typhoons will not spawn.
  22. These Typhoons will spawn after the player shoots down four or more of any of the TGT F-22As and the E-767 drops its altitude twice. However, if the player destroys the E-767, these Typhoons will not spawn.
  23. These Typhoons will spawn after the player shoots down two of the initial Typhoons associated with Operation F and after the player climbs to an altitude of 3,000 meters (9,843 feet) above King's Bay.
  24. These Typhoons will spawn after the player shoots down the two reinforcement Typhoons above 3,000 meters (9,843 feet), and after the player climbs back to that altitude above King's Bay.
  25. These Rafale Ms will spawn after the player shoots down two or more EA-200s associated with Operation F and after the player climbs back to an altitude of 3,000 meters (9,843 feet) above King's Bay.
  26. A maximum of 26 UAV-45s will be present at any given time.
  27. VALET will spawn after the player sinks the initial TGTs in Operation D (one AEGIS, three CRUISERs, six DESTROYERs), and after the player approaches the enemy CARRIER.
